We have made many lifestyle choices over the years which have led people to question our sanity. From camping during the winter, driving Highway 1 in a 40 year old vehicle, to picking a place on the map and going to find it. So when we announced our plans to drive to Central America, it sealed the deal. Reactions from our families included “Do you think that is a good idea?” “You are crazy!” “You could die!” “You have no rights, and the government isn’t even in control.” Our response - In a few short years our daughter will be leaving us, and we can’t miss the opportunity to easily visit different cultures with her. If we don’t do it now, we will lose our chance.
So, we decided "We Are Sane, Everyone Else is Crazy." Fortunately, we have many friends and a few family members who are supporting us. Now if we can just convince some of them to fly down and join us for a week in the Yucatan.
